On Saturday 25th April, the Durham Performance Swimming hub ran a fantastic session hosted by John Moore and Sedgefield Swimming Club at Newton Aycliffe Pool.
In total, 36 swimmers attended the session with representation from Peterlee, Durham, Sedgefield and Derwentside swimming clubs. The swimmers were coached by John, Paul Woodley (Derwentside) and Chris Dove.
An opportunity has arisen for the City of Sheffield Swim Squad to host small group, stroke specific workshops where swimmers will have the opportunity to perfect their technique and receive individual feedback. The sessions are taking place at Ponds Forge ISC on Friday 29 May 2015. The sessions are available to any swimmer who is ASA registered and aged between 7 to 14 years. City of Sheffield coaches will lead these sessions and they guarantee a maximum coach/swimmer ratio of 1:4. They also aim to group the swimmers on age and/or ability.

The ASA and the RNLI are looking for volunteers and swimming teachers to deliver Swim Safe 2015 at a number of locations across the UK this summer.
This is the third successive year that Swim Safe has run across the UK's beaches and lakes, with the 2013/14 programmes seeing over 6,000 children take part and learn how to be safe in different water environments.
The programme offers free improver swimming sessions and beach and water safety advice for children aged 7-14. Most young people learn to swim in an indoor pool which is a safe and familiar environment.
